Can anyone tell me who voiced the deep male voice of "The Shadow"?

Thanks

Hugh Laurie? maybe

It sounded an awful lot like James Mason - but then again, that may have been intentional. Also I think James was dead at the time of filming.

"He had a 'deep, booming voice, M'Lord." LOL

I always thought Miranda Richardson voiced the Shadow but had if put through some vocal effects or something.

Yeah, I also thought that it was Miranda Richardson's voice with sound effects used on it.

So, no one else thought it sounded like Rik mayall. if you listen it does sound a lot like him i think. but Miranda's voice would also suit, dunno, anyone agree with Rik?.

I did wonder if it might be 'Warren Clarke' who plays her father. i have heard him do a variety of voices. However also it is possible that it could be some one like 'Gary Martin' who does a lot of very deep voice over work.

You nailed it. It's not that hard to figure out.

I think you will find that you are wrong. Harmonising equipment of the 80's would not be able to drop a voice so much without losing to much clarity (it would tend to end up with a Dalek type gurgle). I also draw your attention to this (which agrees with my previous post).

I'm pretty sure it's Robert Stephens, who played Aragorn in 1981 radio version of The Lord of the Rings. His voice is pretty distinctive.

Several sites have it as Warren Clark (in the style of James Mason) doing the voice of the Shadow.
