Anyone else notice the amount of jokes involving animals or food?

Don't get me wrong, I love the series (forth being the best) but it struck me watching this series in-particular, about 80% of the jokes involve animals or food!

wit of a donkey, turnips, aadvarks, elephant ommlettes, kicking a cat, mouse, sausages, dog who speaks, wheels on a tomato, bees, bucket of pig swill, grapefruit/sour grapes, magnificent octopus, weasels wedding tackle, chicken pimpernel, earwigs, pilchards

...and that's just in the two episodes i just watched (and off the top of my head)

Now i've noticed it i can't seem to stop noticing it!
