Amercianized version rumor
I don't know if this is true or not but I read that they're planning to do an American version with this with Steve Martin in the Blackadder role, which I don't think would go over well.

shareWhere the *beep* did you hear that? Sorry for swearing, but the whole idea is ludicrous....
shareI can't even ..NO. But I'd bet Hollywood's been trying to do this for years. They can't resist terrible ideas. Steve Martin is too old to be the roguish, sometimes dashing (S2), brilliantly peeved Blackadder. And Martin's style of comedy is 1,000 kinds of wrong for the character. Unless they resurrect S1 Blackadder for him which wasn't well developed and kind of a flop.
But now I've spent 20 seconds thinking about this and that's 21 seconds too long. Let's call it a nasty rumor and just plug our eyes and close our ears until it goes away!
Hopefully not!
shareI know! How about Craig Bierko as Edmund? (Or is that a stupid idea?)

let's not go to camelot, it is a silly place
It does sound terrible, but some Britcom adaptations did cross the pond successfully like Steptoe and Son (Sanford and Son) and Till Death Do Us Part (All in the Family). So basically, it might work if Norman Lear is in charge.
shareI think Ron Livingston looks the part, though whether he could act it is something else again.
sharehow about instead of remaking it - they just show the original on an american television channel?
No power in the verse can stop me
The yanks are even more arrogant than i previously imagined if they think they can pull that off..

Something like that..
