'The show is notable for its in-depth research'

which often provides viewers with little-known information about well-known people.
Please. Maybe it was when it started. Now it is mostly about celebrities and their profiles are always whack. They zoom through their youth and by 5 minutes in, they are talking about their first role or album. Then it is basically reading off a list of their credits. I can get all of that information here. They did a pretty good two-hour special on Jeff Dunham about a month ago, so we know they can still do it right when they want to. I don't know, maybe it was because he participated but we actually got some little known information for a change. Compare that to Meryl Streep's episode:

She made this movie and this movie and this movie, which she won an Oscar for. Then she made another movie and got another nomination. Then she made another movie and got another nomination. Then she made another movie and won another Oscar. And by the way, she had four children in the 80s. Then she made another movie and got nominated for an Oscar. Then she made another movie and got nominated for an Oscar etc. It is so boring and there is zero effort put into it. Why do they even bother?

Don't puke in the punch and tell me it's alphabet soup.

Completely agree. This show used to be interesting when they featured biographies on notables such as Caligula, Cornelius Vanderbilt, Sir Walter Raleigh, etc. Now we are treated to such light fare as the biography of actor Kevin James. Yippee. I would rather watch the history of lint.
