Firstly I want to say what an amazing show this is. I came accross it an play.com and thought I'd give it a try. I'm on the second DVD of season 2. I just have a few questions.

Why doesn't vincent ever come into Catherine's appartment? Why do they always stand on the balcony?

Secondly I read somewhere that this show was very successful in it's time and had lots of merchandise made. I can't remember where I read it but it said you could get T-shirts, figures, mugs etc. I have only managed to find a home made T-shirt, books and comics. Anyone know anything about this?

Lastly I just want to say about the casting of Vincent and Catherine. I think they were perfect. I don't think it would have worked as well with anyone younger. It was perfect with people mature enough to realise what love really is and had actually experienced life. As for Catherine I think having Linda Hamilton was espcially good in the role. Linda is not what people would describe as a "Hollywood bombshell" but is attractive in her own way. I find it very refreshing to have someone naturally pretty for a change.

Hi noir64! Glad you found & love the show!

-I think the writers chose for Vincent to never come into Catherine's apt. to limit the romance -The balcony was 'safe' territory

-It's hard to find old merchandise, but you could try an advanced search excluding the words 'Disney' 'Belle' & 'Broadway'

-You might also want to come to the yearly conventions! -July of 2012 it will be held in Dallas, TX -Look on the BATB Land site for details -We have charity auctions selling B&B merchandise & art -Hope you can attend!

I think that it was also to show that she could live in his world, but he couldn't live in hers.

maybe. I never thought of it that way. I saw in one episode (can't remember which) where she asked him inside and he looked a bit worried about going in.

You've probably found out by now after watching the whole series but there were a couple of times where Catherine talked about the balcony as being 'their world'. Late in season 2 he does come into her apartment as their relationship gets deeper.

I thought Linda Hamilton was attractive. But I don't think she was considered a great beauty by Hollywood standards.
