In my opinion, "Amerika" has been unfairly treated by television history. For better or worse, whoever has the rights to this miniseries should put it out on DVD.

Yeah, I wonder if it's anywhere on DVD. Interesting piece of Cold War history and how so many of us back then were so prejudiced against the Russians...and many of us didn't realize that they were just as afraid of us taking them over and we were of them.

Quality is not that great, and there is about 30 minutes missing, but it is still worth watching, and it's the only DVD out there right now.

I found a complete copy on Ebay, DVD. Looks like a limited production product. Quality is great. I still have an orginal VHS set. They go upwards of $200 on ebay. I paid $35 for it about 12 years ago.
Of course, I'll never play my VHS version again. No telling how tape hungrey my VHS player is these days.

I got my good copy on ioffer.com. There are several sellers. Look at the reviews to check the quality.
