I'm almost finish watching the first season and I can say that Johnny is hardly in the show. The first 3 or 5 epsoide it was clear that he was the main character of the show but now it seem like a special guest. Is it like this in the rest of the seasons?
shareJohnny Depp is the show as said. He has great episodes in season 2 and 3. I think season 1 was to introduce all characters but Johnny Depp's character, Tom Hanson, has some of the best episodes. The emotional episodes he acts in shows how he was destined for stardom. I am on season 3 now of rewatching since my teen years of the original airing. Anyway, an episode called Swallowed Alive is one of my favorites and it show cases Johnny's character as does many other episodes.
shareThe Russell Buckins episodes were two of the best. Depp and Angelo Tiffe had great chemistry.

While Depp's Hanson was the main character, in the end the entire main cast was - rightfully - given equal focus. (I imagine this is a turn off for Depp fans.) Anyway, Depp is great and all, but if there's one actor who always stole the show and made every episode worthwhile, it's Peter DeLuise.
