In the 21 Jump Street movie, Channing Tatum plays Jenko, and the first hippy Captain's name in the series was Jenko. You think Tatum is meant to be his grandson, maybe?

Does it really matter.It seems irrelevant to try and find continuity between the series and movies because their two separate entities.One is a spoof of the other.

I doubt it, probably just a coincidence with the name. I never saw the movie though.

Anyway, what was the original Jenko's nationality supposed to be? (Stupid conversation about the show characters I had with a friend)

They were just using a tie-in, he wasn't said to be a grandson.
Johnny Depp's friend Sal Jenco joined the show as the repairman Blowfish.
