Excellent movie.

I had seen Trancers before with the very cute Helen Hunt and Thomerson and I remember being entertained by that campy B-movie.

Thus when I found Zone Troopers had the same guy in the movie and the plot sounded interesting, I said, why not. Lets watch it on Netflix streaming.

I started the movie around 11:15pm and thought I'd watch it for 10-15mins and catch up next time if not good. It was around 12:45am when I finished watching it. The movie had really engrossed me.

I simply loved this movie. Sure, it needs another coat of polish, but it is very entertaining.

The camaraderie among the quartet was cliche but it was good. They all had great chemistry and the casting was excellent.

The costumes and weapons were excellent for a seemingly low budget movie. I loved that the Nazis spoke German, the aliens spoke alien and not everyone spoke English which is often a mistake.

The universal translator and the alien humanoid looking males at the end was the lone bummer. They should've had them look like the female bug eyes as well.

This is one excellent movie that I'd like to see remade with someone like JJ Abrams or Steven Spielberg and it can be truly elevated to something great.

Overall, this was an excellent movie.

My rating: 8.5/10

Overall, I enjoyed it. The chemistry between the four soldiers was great, like you said. The part with Hitler really made it great, though; it was already the kind of movie you expect to be over-the-top and silly, but that scene took it way past the expectations. (Sort of like of the exterminator scene in House II.)

I thought it lost some steam towards the end, though. I really liked the first alien, and the way they decided to save it from the Germans was just like, "Aaawwwww." But then the rest of the movie after that seemed like just a bunch of random fight scenes, and there wasn't as much of the tongue-in-cheek hokiness as before. In fact, I think it made an unintentional switch from tongue-in-cheek 50's hokiness to genuine 80's hokiness. Not that that wasn't there the whole time, to some degree, but by the end the movie had just lost my attention. I was really into it for the first hour, and that's quite a while for me, because I have a very short attention span. (I usually have to watch movies in 2 segments, or I get bored and start messing around on the internet while it's still on.)
