I don't know, a lot of players have had to quit do to concussions but I don't think I've heard of an athlete with a metal plate in they're head.

reply

Gordie Howe played with a metal plate in his head. He played for a very very very long time. Look it up.

reply

I never thought about that. Yeah, Gordy Howe played pro(not NHL) into his 60s, i think.

If i had to make an uneducated guess, i would say, Swayze would be able to play again after a while. But, reall, no idea.

What NHL team is going to draft a Junior Hockey player that has had a severe head injury and a questionable future? There are plenty of great Junior Hockey players...... He missed is shot.

reply

I took it as Sutton was not going to play again. If he had the chance to get picked in the draft and established himself in the NHL and suffered his injury, it's possible he could've continued, but as stated earlier, it's doubtful that he would have gotten the lucrative draft-day deal that he had hoped for.

I'm thinking that in the grand scheme of things, Youngblood goes high in the draft, becomes a huge star and makes millions, therefore helping out his friend Sutton.

If he gets drafted, his position definitely drops quite a bit. No one is going to risk a high pick in the draft on him.

reply

I think they imply in the movie that he never plays again but I like to think he is able to overcome his injury and plays or at least coaches.
