why in just three years, things change so much?

yeah, why things change so much in just three years?
mark gor was cool and lifted up his horn.though he is crippled but
why it seems he is down and out ,so miserable?he should still have power
and strength to fight against the enemies.why does he have to wait his friend?

Well, remember when Ho surrenders to the police. You can obviously see that Mark is distraught over the loss of his friend, and is just shocked that his friend was captured. They were like brothers in arms, or close best friends, and naturally to show his loyalty to Ho, of course, he is going to want to get revenge on the guy that brought his best friend down. I thought it was sorta realistic, and I liked the way that the movie presented itself that revenge does have a cost. Sure, we would have loved to see Mark end up as the leader between him and Shing, but you know something? This is a movie, we don't always need the sugarcoated version of things. Its a question of loyalty

The thing is, after Ho gor got arrested, it was obvious that it was Shing that set him up. After Ho was arrested, Shing assumed power in the gang, and Mark, because of his disability, (I assume) had to step down. Mark was only powerful when he was with Ho, and since everyone started to side with Shing, Mark was lucky enough to even keep a kob with Shing, as a window washer, door opener.

that's true, Mark was only powerful together wih Ho. He was lost without ho and didn't really know what to do.
