Mark's junk food at the beginning

In the opening scene of the movie, Mark buys something to eat from a street vendor, who chops it up with scissors. It looks like white strings with a red sauce, and he's eating it with a toothpick on a paper plate. Anyone know what it is?

Id like to know that too!

It's called 'Cheung Fun', a Cantonese Dim Sum delicacy. The center can be filled with a variety - anywhere from shrimp, beef, or some with a fried dough called 'Chinese Donut'. You can get this anywhere that sells Dim Sum, especially in Chinatown.

Why did Mark then chase after the guy and ditch the plate when the cop showed up?

reply

The vendor fled (the police) because presumably, he is an unlicensed hawker (there used to be lots of these food carts all over HK in those days, especially illegal ones - most of them disappeared after the handover). It is nothing uncommon for them to flee to avoid arrests

I watch movies that feature only three cats
