Disturbingly underrated

I am just shocked and appalled at how this movie gets constantly overlooked as one of the better sports movies of all time.

It is such a great film, even watching the trailer is making me want to watch it more than ever before even my sister is dying to watch it i am trying to download it if you know anywhere i can plz let me know.

I must say that I totally agree. There is a local sports talk station that often does a Top 10 list of sports movies. What makes it even more disturbing is that they actually gave football films it's own list and "Wildcats" still didn't make it, yet "The Last Boyscout" did? Give me a *beep* break!

Molly: Your team only won one game last year and that was because the other team's bus broke down.

Principal Edwards: Yup. That victory party was something to see.

reply

The Last Boy Scout? That movie wasn't even about sports. Just one of the main characters is an ex-football player. Why don't they add Flash Gordon to the list while they're at it. That's a bad job!

reply

What the hell that made the top ten sports Movies List no WAY....
That film isn't even so much about sports.
Wildcats Give this film so more credit.

I love this movie.

I've just ordered the movie off playusa.com as I've just started getting back in the NFL.

I always loved this movie

Just goes to show sexism still exists. The same kind of thinking that picked a male home ec teacher who knew nothing about football over a woman who knew a lot about football still exists.

No two persons ever watch the same movie.

So underrated! I love this movie, we used to have it on VCR and I watched it so much! It's sad because most people my age don't even know it and have never heard of it before! They're missing out!

'You people. If there isn't a movie about it, it's not worth knowing, is it?'

I'm a sucker for the sports movie where the underdog gets up against the odds. I also like Goldie Hawn, love the Principal Williams character and like the fact that the producers left the language realistically fruity. But we have seen this sort of story done to death, before this film and plenty of times since. On top of all that is the soapy sub-plot of the possible loss of custody, which is pure unadulterated, uninteresting, unfunny filler.

Seriously, this film is not underrated. I think I'm generous in giving it a 6/10.🐭

Yeah, the story has been done many times, but Wildcats was the one that did it best and without being melodramatic or contrived. This was a natural, charming movie with great actors and a great script. It's got so much heart and character. Any other sports movie doing the same story just doesn't come close to Wildcats because of how well made it is.

Disagreed. That subplot is important because it adds depth to Goldie's character (and also to the movie) to show her being a mother and balancing that with being a coach. To its credit, it wasn't sentimental, overdone or cheesy like you see in so many movies of the same type.

Acting like you some one-man GPS
