The people at Paramount Entertainment need done to them the same thing Paul Rodriguez did to the chicken in this movie for not releasing this on DVD!!!

you can go to www.onlinepetition.com to start a Whoopee Boys DVD petition. I tried to start one but I screwed it up.

I just called them to request the Whoopee DVD release. I suggest you do the same thing.

Any news? There must be a release ,this is my alltime favorite.

reply

Thanks for the info! This is one of my favs. I have it on VHS, but the print's getting old.

I sent them a letter about a year ago and they never responded. @ssholes.

I can't believe the amount of crap available on DVD-- junk titles you can find in a baragin bin at Walmart, yet a gem such as The Whoopee Boys has been left to wither away on VHS. Somebody at Paramount needs to get with the program!

I bet you would!

How much is the VHS? Some crazed lunatics on ebay want a fortune for ex-rental copies of this.

Dvd now.

I finally got tired of waiting for a proper DVD release and just transferred my VHS copy to DVD. I wish the quality was better, but at least I'm not putting additional wear on my VHS copy anymore.

I'll be first in line to buy it if/when they give this a proper DVD release.

I just received a DVD from www.missedmovies.com ... I thought I was getting a new VHS... but today the disk arrived. Sweet!!!

What did he do to the chicken, I don't know? That is because I have never seen this movie, and in fact I had never heard of it until coming on here because I saw it was released in theaters on Friday, August 22, 1986. That was the day I first went off to and began college, and the 20th anniversary of it will be Tuesday. I intend to observe it then, and am looking into all the movies released in theaters that day.

I emailed Paul Rodriguez on 12/13/06 with the following:

Huge fan love your work, Sorry to bother you but have you any idea of a dvd release date for "The Whoopee Boys"? Thanks in advance, Chet Manchester

His/His people replied on 12/13/06:

Chet if I had a nickel for every time someone has told me how hard it is to find a copy of the Whoopee Boys I would be able to buy the rights and make it available on DVD. I have my secretary, who also is a "Whoopee" fan, working on finding out if and when Paramount is going to make it available on DVD. You can check back on my site in the future and when it becomes available I will post it. Thanks for the support. Paul

So if he doesn't know I don't think that's a good sign. It's sad that this great movie has not been released on DVD yet with all the other crap out there.

I cleared out my spare room last weekend and found my old VHS copy! Very very impressed with my ability not to throw things away. Two fingers to the ebay profiteers!

reply

I actually found a copy on DVD. I was searching Ebay and found someone on there w'a copy. I actually got it for a reasonable price too. I totally suggest you search there. I was very surprised to find and snatched it up asap!!! Goodluck1

reply

I'd be willing to bet you got a pirate copy. To my knowledge, it's never been officially released on DVD. Did they at least do a decent job on the transfer?

reply

I am sure that it is a DVD made from a VHS tape, if you look at the seller's other items for sell they are also tape transfers. Too bad the guy did not have a laser disc copy to copy from. I may buy one, beats spending $35 for an exrental copy of unknown condition. It has been too long since I have watched this movie.

I broke down and purchased a DVD off eBay, $14 to the door. This “imported” DVD is a definitely from a VHS tape. The video and audio are tolerable, there are a couple of tracking disturbances, but all in all I am happy. NOT TO WORRY I WILL STILL PURCHASE THE DVD WHEN RELEASED FROM THE STUDIO (Paramount get off your A** and release this movie), but until then I am good to go. I also found a website www.missedmovies.com that sells these “imported” DVD movies. I saw that they also sell a DVD OF Ski School.
