Who rates for the sattelite guide anyway?

I saw most of this movie. Unfortunately I had it Tivoed and the end was cut off so I don't know how much or what I missed.
Despite the high rating here and in the sattelite guide this was a dull movie.
Also it was pretty strange.
I hope somebody else caught it because I sure would like to know exactly how it ends!
