I remember seeing this film a couple of years ago and thinking it strange that I'd never heard of it especially bearing in mind the strong cast and also the fact it is much better than many of the films Caine did in the 80's.
I looked it up in my 1996 edition of the Halliwell Film Guide and it wasn't there!!!!
Does anyone know if it's been included in later editions?
Many Guide Books and Encyclopedias have cleansed their lists of many less used
items. Discontinuing printed books has become widely practiced these past few
years. Excessive use of internet information has rendered printed forms obsolete, consider the closing of many long standing daily newspapers.
IMDb, Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble as well as many internet web sites provide
extensive information. Actually it is more convenient especially when you are
already on the internet.
Whistle Blower was controversial at it's time. It has lost it's audience now
and is no longer in print. I liked it then and still visit it now and again.

There's no logic to what you're saying anyway. The Halliwell Film Guide doesn't list films because they are in regular circulation.
