Vindicator - Robocop?

This is an old fave rave of mine which I've just managed to pick up from a market stall for the princely sum of £3. Anyway, I've just sat and watched it for the first time in many, many moons and was immediately struck by an odd thought.... Is it just me or is this film INCREDIBLY similar to Robocop? Same basic theme, many similar scenes etc etc Believe me I'm not downing The Vindicator, I still love this movie but the similarities were too much to miss. I've checked out the writers and they don't seem to have been involved in Robocop so I was just wondering if anyone else knew anything about this?

This movie Came out BEFORE Robocop. When I first saw Robocop, my thoughts were that this was a bigger budget version of The Vindicator.

Believe me I'm not downing The Vindicator, dude dont worry about downing a movie u r perfectly entitled to ur own opinion.

One scene that is almost identical to RoboCop is when the helmets are removed. Other than that, I don't think the movies are that similar other than them both being cyborgs.

There's scene where the Vindicator pulls a guy through a wall that was copied in Robocop.

The phrase "fave rave" makes me think of Fay Wray ("Fay[v] Wray[v]").
