Great movie

I love Finland :D

reply

Great movie indeed. Am a bit shocked at the lack of posts here. I love Kaurismäki.

reply

I haven't been in Finland and frankly I am not interested on visiting. Nothing against finnish people. I am sure they are wonderful people (with some exceptions, of course). It's just that I don't find the country particularly interesting.

But man, I love Kaurismäki movies!

There are thousands of loveli lakes there; you should go.

akis best film and great fotography of helsinki < hakaniemi and kallio..

I thought it was Sweden that had the loveli lakes and the telephone system and the mani interesting furry animals.

In any event, this was a great film. Probably the best play on the romantic comedy I've seen in a while.

reply

Well they do call Finland a "land of thousand lakes" and not for nothing - according to Wikipedia there are 188 000 lakes in Finland.

As for the Holy Grail reference... that was about Norway.

I'm American. Finland and Norway are the same place.

On account of Kaurismaki I have to agree.

I wholeheartedly agree! I've been to nine European countries and even have had a friend since 1982 from there, but unfortunately haven't been there. My first film by Kaurismaki (I have the two Eclipse Series of his), and I love his style and humour.

One of the best ever... Matti Pellonpaa is my favorite actor (not counting Marlon Brando)...

10/10 -- I can't find a single flaw in this movie.
