i want to have this movie!

this movie is great, one of my favorites.
Anybody knows how can i get it on dvd?

reply

No sure, but I still can't get over how gorgeous Kidder was in this film. She's just as radiant as she was in Superman 1, and she's ironically playing the exact same age. Too bad they didn't make her look as beautiful a year later in the dismal Superman IV.

It would be a great movie. It was out around the time of DYNASTY!!

I don't have this movie, love to see it again though. I do have the original version, made ten years earlier with Jack Klugman, James Fransiscus and Elizabeth Ashley.

Right which is not mentioned on this site.

It's called "One Of My Wives is Missing" if that helps you. (I like them both, but I like the original better.)

reply

Yes I looked it up under Jack Klugman credits, the newer film is metioned there.

I understand it (the original) is rather hard to find... I found a VHS of it on EBAY and burned it to DVD.

I ran into it late at night many years ago, haven't seen it since.

I'm old enough to remember both from their first runs. Actually, it was kind of funny - I saw the Klugman version first when it came out in the 70's, and then, ten years later, I saw the commercials touting this new mystery about a man who's wife disappears, and another woman taking her place and a town that doesn't seem to understand or believe him, and I thougnt, wait a minute! I know that movie! and finally remembered the title, and who played at least the policeman (Klugman) and the guy (James Franciscus) but I decided to watch it anyway, only because I liked the leads. Kind of weird though because I think way back then it was the first time I hade seen a movie remade in my lifetime -- something my late mother used to gripe about - remaking "classics." There are so many more now! But at the time, I was kind of proud of myself because VCR's weren't as common (I didn't get one until the mid 80's) and of course DVDs and Bluerays, and the Net weren't even a glimmer in someone's mind yet -- I think CD's were out by then but still very expensive.

Sigh -- I miss movies of the week.....
