Grace Jones's stripping scene...

Was that even meant for a SECOND to be hot?? That woman was an effin' nightmare. She looked like a clown combined with Chucky. Way too manly of features too... I guess that was the point.. To be sort of dark, demented, and disgusting... Nice ass, but otherwise.. Bleh..

Anyone actually dig that scene?

reply

She was kinda hot back then in a odd sorta way.

reply

Completely disgusting. And the notion that she was the star attraction over all the hot chicks was totally laughable.

reply

Even back then I never understood why they would choose her. I mean the entire movie has a very offbeat feel to it so I guess it should be that much of a surprise. But to answer your question, not hot.

Back off! ... Way off!

I thought the paint on her body was hot. But the face makeup and the wig were a big turn off. Maybe she realized the movie was shyte and tried to keep from being recognized. Her movements were not fluid enough to be seductive.

So, no, I did not dig that scene.

reply

It was very artistic. The paint was very interesting. The music was great. All the hotness came from her facial expressions and body movement, which were loaded with a pure animal intensity of sexuality.

Another way to look at it is, she is the head vampiress. The stuff in her room suggests that she is as old as ancient Egypt. She is full of power over mortals. Every man would be overwhelmed with attraction and begging to be her slave simply because she was in front of them. She can do whatever she wants.

reply

what was hot was the scene after her strip scene. Where she seduces, kills, and eats handsome AJ. Now that is a hot scene!

reply

Yeah, it definitely is.

reply

Agree. Grace Jones is the ugliest vampire in cinema history.

reply

I agree. She's worst than Nosferatu.

reply

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.

But that is mean, Grace is hot with a capital H.

reply

I don't think it was meant to be sexy in a conventional stripper-sexy sense; being that it was Grace Jones I think it was meant to be more performance art-y as that's how a lot of her videos and shows were back then. I think it was just meant to add to the offbeat vibe like someone else above thread said.

reply

I thought she looked really scary lol. She looked good for the rest of the movie though, when she wasn't dressed like that.
