This movie is about as far off the radar as you can get!

So how did it spawn the infamous label for obnoxious internet mischievers?

This movie didn't exactly spawn the term troll. Why exactly it became a term for certain internet users, I don't know. But I doubt this movie has anything to do with it. Because it simply refers to what a troll was originally considered to be.
