Why were their so many animation errors?

I realize that the tv show was always fairly sloppy when it came to the animation but I was surprised that the movie had the same issue. I think the worst part wasn't the miscoloured characters or voices coming out of the wrong character but having some characters appear multiple times. One the insecticons shows up after Scurge and Cyclones are around.

It was probably a budget issue that limited re-directs. First off, I heard the script was a bit different prior to the final release. Some people said that you can see Starscream fighting Unicron towards the end and you can see Thundercracker at SS's coronation. Supposedly, these characters were still alive at that point but final changes were made and I guess they just forgot to remove their Cels. The insections were probably still alive at that point of animation before the creators decided to axe them in the final stages, but didn't want to re-animate everything all over again. So overall, I think they animated everyone first and decided to keep who they wanted to towards end production. However, many inconsistencies arose as you spoke.

Insecticons were more than the boss Bombshell, Shrapnel and Kickback. There were hundreds if not thousands of clones of them so fo a few of the clones to be functioning is not too far fetched.

But generally there were too many hands involved and they didn't communicate between each other the best, which lead to many animation errors.

Starscream was one of the Cone heads, not all the ocneheads met their demise so it was probably suppsoed to have been another conehead just colored wrong.

The errors are what makes this film great. It's been a while ago, there was a commentary done about the film. One of the producers said that the toy company was in a hurry to introduce the new line of products so the movie release got pushed up significantly. So hasbro split the animation duties between a company in Japan and Sunbow. This will explain the various color, sizing, and error in some dialog. My favorite mess up is when Ultra Magnus is blown to pieces but so how is able to dance with the junkions.

Same reason you used "their" instead of "there."

Mistakes happen.

Can't stop the signal.

I always remember the most noticeable one for me is after Prime knocks Megatron off the platform he stands and then collapses. His ears (antennas) are white while the rest of his head remains blue.

That scene with Hod Rod firing on the shuttle and Kup asking "What's that darn fool doing!?" When Kup ask that he has Sunstreaker right next to him. Sunstreaker was piloting the second shuttle that brought Prime. Also two Frenzy's when Soundwave ejected them to jam Blasters transmission, Rumble no where in sight.

I'm sure their are others but those two are hard to miss for me.
