When will this be on DVD?

Amazon doesn't have it. Does anyone know if this movie will ever come out on DVD?

Earlier this year, I got a full-frame (not widescreen) copy of this movie on DVD for free in a Father's Day card (in other words, it came WITH the card; just the DVD itself, that is, no case or sleeve or anything). When stuff like that happens, it usually means the movie in question has fallen into the public domain. Something else I found rather shocking: the hockey scenes in which some of the players (including Michael Keaton himself) are shown not wearing helmets. Of course, pro players have all been wearing helmets for decades now... OH! And that '80s synthesizer musical score! That dates this movie almost as much.

Brad Marsh (who played with Ottawa) never wore a helmet up until he retired sometime in the mid 90s. So, there were holdovers to the old era. This film was made in the eary 80s, so there were probably lots of guys not wearing helmets -- holdovers from the 70s.

Regarding the film being on DVD, I just bought it at Walmart. It cost me a grand total of 3 dollars and 97 cents for it, and another sports film that I picked up.

yeah, sorry... lots of players didn't wear helmets until recently. Craig McTavish is the last not to wear one, that was in 1996-1997 in St. Louis. Actually, anyone born before 1975 has the option not to wear one. Last NHL goalie to play without a helmet: Andy Brown, Pittsburgh, 7 April 1974

Lionsgate has released this on DVD as part of "The Comedy Collection", an 8 Movie DVD pack that also includes You Can't Hurry Love (1988), My Chauffeur (1986), From the Hip (1987), Shanghai Surprise (1986), Date With an Angel (1987) (Replacing the now-OOP Anchor Bay DVD), Weekend Pass (1984) and All of Me (1984).

Yes...
I scored the collection that Duke posted about above me. I bought the whole damn collection, for this one movie. I haven't seen the other movies yet... Not too sure when I will. But I remember seeing this film in the theater when it first came out, and I remember REALLY liking it! After all these years, I finely found it, but I had to buy 7 other movies in the process. Oh well...

I'm not really big on sports movies or romance movies... But for some reason, this film was still very enjoyable for me. And, having just watched it again this evening... It's STILL a really good movie. Roger Ebert and I finely agree on a movie rating.
:o)
