Hair cut??

In the ending there is a scene where the old woman say to Sheeta that she had her hair cut in some sad maner... but I rewind the movie and never found a scene that they cut it... right before the destruction word is spoken, she is seen with long hair and after Muska say something they show Sheeta again, but this time with short hair already...

WTH?????????

I meant that it was supposed to be the original version and it should contain such scene... that is odd that it don't have...

I think you just missed it. I've watched in both English and Japanese. The scene exists in both versions.

I don't know why but Sheeta getting her hair shot off always stood out to me for some reason. One of those weird images you can't un-see for some reason.

Most strong symbolism to degrade Sheeta from the title of Princess of Laputa, with acceptable child-appliance body attempt.

Oddly enough it happens in other Miyazaki fiction as well.

In Howl`s Moving Castle Sophie has to cut her braid in order to make a bargain with the fire demon Calcifer in order to move the castle and rescue Howl.
And in the manga version of `Nausicaa` a young woman is shown cutting off her braid as a sort of `rite of passage` into adulthood.

Seems like it might be a bit of a theme in Miyazaki`s works, or is it a Japanese thing about girls cutting their hair when they become women?.
