considering the way they've followed TOS movies so far (1- Vger like vessel, 2- Khan, 3- Ent destroyed) the JJ Trek 4 should also have the whale probe turn up early so Pine&Co go back to 1986 San Fran (80s are very in now) and have to avoid their older 'prime' counterparts (like BTTF2/DS9Tribbles/Endgame) and they get help from Eddie Murphy as a UFO believing college professor. Gal Gadot as Kirks 80s aerobics instructor love interest. and Kirsten Wiig as Gillians Taylors sister. also Alexandra Daddario as Lt Saavik

you probably know this already but the Kirk meets his Pop (Thor) ST4 was going ahead with some tv director woman but it fell apart due to pay dispute with Pine and Hemsworth. (after Beyond underperformed Paramount wanted to do ST4 more cheap but Pine/Hemsworth wanted what they were agreed for ST4 before Beyond underperformed)

Tarantino was also working on a ST film which was to be made after the Thor ST4. and recently he said its still going ahead so I guess his version would be the 4th movie ... no one knows what itd be though. in an interview a few years back he said if he ever got to do a Trek film hed make it like City on The Edge meets Yesterdays Enterprise so maybe itd be like a timetravel Endgame type thing involving the JJ cast and various characters from Trek history

That is actually one of the best ideas I've heard. Quentin Tarantino could do his thing with it, there could be another story in the seedy parts of the city. Scotty, McCoy, and Sulu getting mixed up with 80s drug dealers or something.

Thanks, yes I like that idea of a drug dealers subplot involving the secondary characters. Maybe some element they need to get home would be to do with drugs .. and they have Eddie Murphy there too slipping back into to some Axel Foley lol (actually you could also have Eddie Murphy encountering the 'prime' crew and having a scene with CG 1986 era Shatner/Nimoy like originally planned for The Voyage Home)

A fun gag could be someone seeing 1986 dark curly haired Shatner from afar and goes 'is that guy some kind of police officer?'
