At least, that's what I always look at this film as being.

I was always more in the camp of Whales Vs The Giant Space Sausage or Adventures on a Nuclear Wessel. I flip-flop back and forth between which I think is the main point of the movie.

I like how different it is from the other movies. There's no bad guy in it. Not even anybody with sinister motives.

I hadn't thought of it that way.
Making do with what you've got.
Using futuristic technology without messing up the timeline too much.
Keeping your day job a secret from your new girlfriend.
Saving the world without anyone noticing.
Making some punk on the bus respect the other riders.
