I mean, it sure is a good movie bec of its rating etc, but its got kids. So is the movie from an adults perspective involving kids, or is it more of a kids movie

The movie was extremely popular with preteens and teens when it first came out. Very surprising that in the snobby, arrogant, clueless, materialistic Reagan 80's this was popular. I don't recall adults getting anything out of it, even though the movie was set at a time that the boys would be approaching their 40's in 1986.

I saw this when I was a kid and still enjoy it now it's a very good movie. Really explores a lot of important things to do with life in general. The Characters and acting is superb.

My middle-aged family members loved this movie when it came out. And by the way - the Reagan 80's rocked.

i watch it all the time grown up. its even better now with the nostalgia. 80s films had a certain feel and nothing can ever replace that.

reply

Yes. After all it was up for a script Oscar in 1986.

reply

I saw it in the theatre in '86 when I was 21 with my girlfriend who was 20, and we both absolutely loved it.

It's a good story, well told.

It has the capacity to be liked by people of all ages.

After all, kids often like movies featuring adults, don't they?

Who in the world could think this is a kids movie? lol

It's definitely a movie for adults, that's just about kids.

reply

Absolutely. This movie came out when I was 15, but I just never watched it. I finally watched it yesterday for the first time and I absolutely loved it.
