Hey guys! So another criterion sale is starting up soon and I was thinking of maybe picking this one up along with a couple other titles. For those who've seen the film or own it what are your thoughts and do you recommend buying it if you're a 1st time viewer such as myself?
shareI don't know if this response is too late for your time sensitive question, but I'd say yes. It's one of the best movies I've ever seen. I watch it every time it's on cable, and even own a copy. I just watched it again this morning. Buy it.
shareThanks Lisa! funny story is I bought it the other week and absolutely loved it! It was a fantastic screw-ball comedy/thriller and I loved the performances , the soundtrack , the dialogue and of course those 80's clothes! !00% agree with you and thanks for responding!
shareI blind bought it in 1992 on VHS on the bargain shelf at a drug store... best buy I've ever made, my #1 absolute most favorite movie of all time, pure magic from start to finish!

I'd watch any film by Jonathan Demme on the basis of this one. Even if all his stars are lily white, he will always work some diversity in there.
