Most good reviews are because "I watched this in 80s when I was a kid"

Seems the main reason people like this movie is because they watched it as a kid, you know, the good ole days. I did watch as a teenage kid at the theaters on a date around Christmas 1986, we left less than half way through movie (the post-apocalyptic movies at that time were getting really old). Even though that date turned into a real good date, with real good memories, the movie is just as bad to me now as then. The good ole days are not always as good as they seem.
