Was this movie really filmed in the Smoky Mountains, and if it wasn't,where was it filmed?

We go about twice a year, but nothing in the movie looks familiar to me(and I have been all over the GSMNP)

No, the movie was not filmed here in Tennessee. The movie was filmed in the Rocky Mountains as well as some mountains in California. The cabin was actually on a soundstage in California. Our Smoky Mts here in Tennessee are very lush and beautiful. The mountains that you see in this movie are very rocky. Our mountains look nothing like the mountains in this film. It is our favorite Christmas movie. I just wished they would have insisted on filming here......

I don't understand why they wouldn't have filmed it in the Smokies. To me, it is the most beautiful place on earth. Since Dolly's from Sevierville, I think she should have insisted. Your right. Nothing in the film reminds me of anywhere in the Smokies.

I agree with tennchick, These are not the Smokies or any of the Appalachian mountains. I was thinking just that when I saw the mountain view as she was driving up there, way too big to be the Appalachians

I agree with others who said it was not filmed in East Tennessee, or anywhere in the east. It looks like western mountain scenery. Too bad, because the smokeys are beautiful. But probably produced on low budget not even allowing money to send the cast and crew to the Smokeys. But it is one of our favorite christmas specials.

my god its full of stars

maybe they needed the snow and u can always have it out there, but u can only get sometimes over here, i mean it is not the same you know. that movie needs a lot of snow ans that is pretty much a guarentee in the mountains out west. very predictable. the Smokeys get her snow too and how beautiful she is when she does
