An interesting murder mystery
This movie is interesting if somewhat convoluted. As another poster has stated elsewhere, Joan Hickson played the definitive Miss Marple; has this part been played by anyone else, does anyone know?

Hello gbennie - Many thanks for your very interestin reply - I had no idea that |Miss Marple had been played by so many differnet actresses. I auspect, as you say, that none of them come up to the benchmark provided by Joan Hickson.

I could have done with that just now on another thread when I was trying to calculate the ages at which different people who have played the Miss Marple role. I think it is usual for a lady in her early 70s to be cast as in the case of Margaret Rutherford and Geraldine McEwan. Although Joan Hickson had to wait till around the 80 mark to play Miss Marple, she did a very good job at being the character.
shareJoan Hickson was excellent. it must have been surprising for her to become a TV star at nearly 80, although she was a well known character actress, i don't think she had done anything before that had such a big impact.
