They went too far

Dunking in toilets, throwing toilet papers and eggs, name calling, and stuff like that are normal high school tauntings and pranks, however, causing acid to spill on a person's face is going too far...

I like cats named nightmare. I have a "nightmare" every night!

They didn't mean for the acid to spill in his face. That was an accident and even they realized they had gone too far.

Damn, if only I had read this insightful post before I threw acid in my classmates face...

I'm not saying those bullies aren't partially to blame but to be honest Marty sort of caused it to spill in his own face, of course whoever put acid on top of an unstable set of shelves is also to blame - I don't think the bullies put it there.

Marty's the one who set the Nitric Acid on the edge of the top shelf. The bullies dumped some kind of powder in his chemistry experiment which caused a fire. Marty panicked, trying to turn the Bunsen burner off, which caused the acid to fall off the shelf & shatter on the table, splashing him in the face. So, if you really think about it, it's both sides' fault. Marty should have set the acid in/on a more stable place & the bullies should have never messed with his experiment.

What did Marty do to deserve all that bullying anyways? He didn't seem like a bad person and didn't do anything except dare to be a so called "nerd." It's like those people were obsessed with him. It's one thing to dislike someone but it's another to go out of your way and make them miserable as if it's a job. If you don't like him, just ignore him. You don't have to be such jerks. But I suppose we wouldn't have a movie if they weren't.
