Nola had a baby face. Like Hellraiza81 said, it was that hairstyle she had. Not becoming of her at all. Yeah, Jamie looked old. And I don't know what to say about Spike Lee---hes in his 50s now, and honestly, he looked as old then as he does now! Although he doesn't look bad for his age today.
shareHeck,naw---Spike has actually always looked young for his age----he was nearly 30 when he did this film, but he could have passed for being in his early 20's at that time. Plus,the Mars character was fun and goofy as hell---it was even more funny when he parlayed that same Mars Blackmon character into some commercials along with that memorable "Baby,baby please" tagline.
shareMaybe it's because it's 2015 and I'm watching this again, but I'm realizing how beautiful Nola was and how becoming her hairstyle was. It made her iconic. Some jeri curl or straight perm would have made her look like anyone, but with that style--the hair, the clothes, the distinctive way of speaking--she made "Nole" a symbol of a time.
