Favourite 80's Comedy Movies

Just watched Ruthless People for the first time last night, I absolutely loved it, and I am obsessed by 80s comedies at the moment. Just wondering what other similar 80s comedies films people would say are in the same vein as Ruthless people, or would be reccommended by fans of the genre. Obviously we all know the famous ones, Beverly Hills Cop, Gremlins, etc - my personal all time fave is the breakfast club. I'll start off by suggesting Trading Places, Couch Trip, Fletch, Throw Momma From The Train, LA Story. Any other suggestions?

Ruthless People - "What the hell is going on?!?" "I'M ROBBING YOU!"
Airplane - "Joey, have you ever been to a Turkish prison?"
Beverly Hills Cop - "These cigarettes are very popular with the children."
Ghostbusters - "Ray, when someone asks you if you're a god, you say YES!"

In view of the fact that it's Valentine's day soon, 'Breaking News!' decided to celebrate "TomKat" (in response to three private emailers repeatedly demanding something on the gruesome-toothsome-twosome), by writing a pretty lyric to the tune of John Denver's classic, "Take Me Home, Country Roads," called,

KATIE HOLMES (TAKE TOM HOME)...

This movie does have three big distinctions for me (due to its being in theatres in July, 1986-read my subject on here), but that was the only time I saw it and I didn't like it that much, it was allright. But there were a few 1980s comedies I did like alot, so: Airplane!, my favorite comedy and 8th favorite movie of all time. Also, Airplane 2-The Sequel, When Harry Met Sally, The Cannonball Run, Private School, Casual Sex, Adventures in Babysitting, Porky's (though it is very raunchy-not a problem for me, but maybe for some), Spaceballs, and my favorite MTV movie, Poison Ivy.

I'm shocked and horrified no-one has mentioned

"The 'burbs" with Tom Hanks

and

"Let it Ride" with Richard Dreyfus

These are on very high rotation for me, guaranteed smile flicks. It's so strange that we don't have any comedies for adults made by adults anymore. Even the frat pack stuff, which I do enjoy, seems aimed at the lowest common denominator. I'm only 21 myself, but since I was 8 and I saw the burbs I've loved my 80's flicks. Y'all should check of "Tin Men" with De Vito and Dreyfus, dodgy salesmen par excellence. I agree with everything mentioned so far!

Loved, loved, loved Outrageous Fortune, which also starred Bette Midler!

Yes, "The 'Burbs" was awesome. "Captain Ron" and "Dragnet" should also be mentioned. 80's comedies have a certain charm to them that modern ones do not, for some reason.

Having been raised on 80s movies, this is so weird to read! These were the films that I first watched and loved! Never thought they'd be discussed as vintage...lol

How about The Goonies. I know it's a kids movie but still funny stuff.
