Chemistry!

Hines and Crystal make a great team; their easygoing chemistry elevates a conventional cops and robbers story to wonderfully comedic heights! I recently rediscovered this gem and recommend it to fans of the two leads and anyone who enjoys a good "buddy" film!

Hear, hear! A good movie that I will still stop and watch even though I have satellite and every channel under the sun. Hard to believe it has been 25 years since it came out.

I miss the funny Billy Crystal.

Very true!

I'm surprised these two weren't paired together later in the 90s, at least for those silly City Slicer films. Billy's costars in those films didn't elevate the comedic tension nearly as well as Gregory could have.

yes i think the checistry made the film. i like the fla keys sequence especially.

ya know, lethal weapon came out the next year, which means they were filming L W when this was out in theaters. it is only a hunch but i would suspect that donner and gibson and glover were likely influenced by this movie as they were filming L W because the LW script was much darker than the movie came out.

i bet they saw the humor/chemistry in running scared and attempted to duplicate it

I've been saying this for years and am glad I'm not the only one who recogonize the chemistry between Hines and Crystal. You can tell they were really great friends off the camera as well as on. I've only ever found it in few other films. "Evolution" with David Duchovny and Orlando Jones comes to mind.

Agreed, Hines and Crystal were great together.

The duo were really great together. Shame there was no sequel.
