Story By (Italian Version) ...Do you see what I see?

Edgar Wallace, of King Kong fame, wrote or conceptualized the italian version of the story? Is this someone using his name or is this for real? also, what exactly would it mean to be responsible for the italian version? Was it rewritten somehow when it was dubbed into italian? Which means what, it would be re-cut based on this re-write for the italian version?

Im...befuddled.
