Why did he turn her in? Was he just trying to get laid?

Yes, exactly, he just wanted to get laid, then he turned her in, so that he didn't have to bother helping her.

Pretty much. He certainly wasn't going to wreck his job prospects by helping an inmate escape a correctional institution.
