7/10 for me

In this 1986 French drama, a bored and lonely woman named Delphine goes on a summer vacation. This film is about the people she meets and the conversations she has. The film unfolds in a simple, naturalistic way, which at times is beautiful and charming. There are some moments that drag on and aren't very interesting though. Marie Rivière,brings a lot of heart and depth to the lead role and anchors the film. I appreciate what Rohmer is going for, but the end result is somewhat mixed for me. I liked the film enough, but wasn't blown away. My rating is a 7/10.
