This movie needs to be remade

Hollywood loves to remake movies that were already cash cows. Why not remake movies that had great plots but lacked the screenplay and production quality that if it were fixed would make it a great movie. This title, Rawhead Rex, would nothing but benefit from it.

I don't know. This subject opens up a converstion that is full of pitfalls. Sure, like anything there are good ones and there are bad ones but for myself strictly speaking and not offering opinion of anyone else's take on remakes in general it seems I'm more let down than not. Look at Red Dawn, Conan, True Grit, etc. Truely great movies (again this is only my meaningless opinion and is subject to ridicule) can't be duplicated for what they were.

Now, a sequel idea seems could have a better chance at success rather than attempt to re-create the original classic (yes, to me it's a classic).

I do agree with you, it deserves something more. If a remake did nothing more than create interest in the original for folks that had not been known about it or took the time to find it and view it I would consider even that much a success.

I usually hate remakes, but this is in need of one. The special effects for the creature were okay, but today comes off laughable. Some updated higher-budget animatronics maybe even with a touch of CGI (Jurassic Park) would do the creature and the legend justice. But knowing Hollywood they would make the creature all cgi, sigh... Perhaps Studio ADI could help with the project after all they are making Harbinger Down which looks somewhat promising. Also I think they should change the title to just "Rawhead" to make it sound less comical and more accurate to the legend.
