The Wife

What happened to the wife? Did I miss a scene?

At the start he legit has a wife, then you never see her again.
All while he has a fling with that other chick while undercover, I thought he was in on it, that she was spying on him, well she is and he knows it because he heard that phone conversation she had.. But then, he let her get close to him or something towards the end?
But why didn't he bring it up?

Like he even mentions to the fling chick that he is married, but shes far away.

Does the wife think hes dead (cause of the undercover thing) ?

The ending was pretty brutal, no last words or anything, just following the action and 3 shotgun rounds in the guys back

It’s been awhile since a rewatch, but if I recall, he gets back with his wife at the end. Arnold at the end tells Harry Shannon - the hospital scene where he’s trying to walk again - that he’s back with his wife and I think he mentioned they’re expecting a child. But yeah, I don’t think we ever get an explanation on whether he told his wife about faking his death and going undercover.

Not a great film, lots of holes. But cheap violence, car chases, cheesy one-liners....good times!

The wife believes he is dead after he fakes his own death. He has a "fling" with Monique, but they never have sex. She questions him about it, why he is such a slow starter, and he admits that he is married and that his wife is far away. He also knows, of course, that she has been set up to spy on him but wins her over.
