Where did the girlfriend get her money?

At the casino table, the girlfriend implied that she was getting money from somebody (ostensibly the mob) and that there 'was more where that came from'.

Why question is, why was she getting money from them? They made it clear that she wasn't sleeping with the pock-faced thug and she didn't seem to have much -if any - relationship with any of the other mob members. Why would they be paying her (apparently enough to support herself, since she didn't appear to have a real job)? Just to sit there, show her (impressive) cleavage and smoke about a pack an hour?
