The ending... it's kind of moving

I don't know, it works. Harry as he trys to walk towards Arnie, the music, the nurse with tears in her eyes, Arnie's look to her, Arnie catching Harry, the great moment they have right before we perfectly still-frame out. It just all comes together nicely. Call it a sappy guilty pleasure ending, I always dug it.

What about you? By the way, "Did you ever quit on Blair?"

Haha I love the ending too. After Arnie wipes out Luigi's gang, you think it's going to end on that maniac killer note but it throws in the feel good ending for good measure. Gotta love it.

Crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of the women!

I just watched this AGAIN - (seen it a dozen times) ---- and yes, the ending really works! it's moving! I get a mental image of the newborn son being raised in a loving cop-family ---- and everything working out great in the end...

Yep back in the 80's where a film could be kick ass and then semi-serious not like today where it must be tounge in cheek or a serious thriller.

reply

It might be the best Arnie ending really.

I got misty-eyed during the ending. Mainly cause its the dad from A Christmas Story.

"Fragile! Must be Italian!"

i loved the ending, it brought some heartwarming emotion back into the film after Arnold's killing spree of mafia scum. It would of been sad if Harry died cuz Arnold needed him to help get his job with the FBI back.

Harry wasnt overcoming being paralized, but just taking the first steps towards healing after the death of his son.

OMG OMG The ending to 'Raw's Deal' is the breast ending i've ever seen!! I cried when i saw it, embarresed yes i am, but i love the ending its quite emotiuonal, how arnie is crippled and his fat friend is also crippled and they high five even tho they no it will kill them. They love each other soo much, thats why i love this film. ACEFREHLEY is wrong when they say it was out of place, becasue is was totally in the right place when i saw the film, WHO IS THE ACTOR WHO PLAYS THE MUSCLEBOUND HERO OF THIS FILM, i dont think it is arnold *beep* because he speaks german i think, or french i saw him in the supermarket once, but it wasnt him it was some other freak, so i laughed and ate his bagette.

SO YEAH IT IS A GOOD FILM 'RAW DEALS' but i didn't like the ending, sooooo cheesy.

Yeah I thought that nurse with the funny looking mouth with tears in her eyes was the final straw. That was making me cry when she started smiling and welling up with tears, I was a blubbering mess.

reply

Ha, great post. She really shined in her bit part.

At first I thought this had been spliced in from another movie. Within a five minute stretch Arnie goes from wiping out an entire gang, killing the dude from "Street Hawk", giving money that isn't his to a fleeing criminal and gambling addict to what feels like a moment lifted from a Hallmark movie.

Needless to say I teared up.

Saw the movie when it was released, and one of the only scenes I can remember is the ending. Freeze frame on Darren and Arnold, eye to eye.

It's not that I don't trust you, it's the devil in you that I don't trust,

"My reunion with Amy was a big success"

"Did you ever quit in front of Blair?"

Love the freeze frame at the end of both them both smiling.

I especially liked the part where we find out Kaminsky's wife, who thought her husband dead, is pregnant.

I blame the make-up sex.
