Pedagogy

Richard you are ratboy. Now go and find me some oatcakes............and squirty cheese.

Ratboy is a particularly good film, but only if you wrap up warm, bring plenty food, bring something to drink, and most importantly, meet at the mango beach bar.

The last time i was watching ratboy i found it difficult to get into it so i started reading my favourite book, Pedagogy of the Oppressed by Paulo Freire and grew a neck warmer! My mate got into the film straight away but i think he was enjoying his pipe more than the film.

Pedagogy of the oppressed is indeed an excellent body of work, but I feel the follow ups 'Liberating Pedagogy' and 'Pedagogy of the Heart', also by Paulo Freire, are equally impressive. What's more, you cannot afford to miss this month's Primary Geographer. P S I hope they release Ratboy on DVD - I've got a friend (who we nickname 'Currant Bun') and he reckons Ratboy would be excellent on the small screen.
