Ratboy remake for 2010

Has anyone heard that they be making the film for a release in 2010?
I know a guy who has been attached to work on the script. Although they will follow the originally pretty closely, why would you mess with such a great script to begin with is beyond me..

Actually, if you're going to remake anything at all, then shouldn't it be a film that had a decent central idea but a botched execution, rather than a film that was more or less perfect the first time and didn't need any kind of a do-over?
