I need help locating an 80's movie

I saw this movie that must have come out either in the mid or late 80's about a guy who lives with his Dad, and he falls for this pretty girl with long blonde hair who already has a boyfriend whose a bad dude, and even though she starts something with the nice guy, she then goes back to the bad boyfriend who she then helps I think rob the nice guy's Dad( I remember her approaching him as he is in his car)and then something happens and the Dad ends up in the hospital and then she goes to the hospital cause she feels bad and then her and the nice guy make out in the hospital I think or his house. I think these are all highschool kids. This is all I remember. Really hope someone can help me find the name of this movie.
