best sequel in the Psycho franchise

In my opinion Psycho 3 is the best after the first course.
is a very dark and violent film, and the psychology of Norman is made perfectly.
Perkins legendary

It is a good sequel, but I think Psycho II is better.

I think that PSYCHO II, III and IV are much better films then people give them credit for. However they'll always be overlooked because they're spawned off of such a respected film like PSYCHO. But thank God that they're are alot of fans out there that love PSYCHO not just as a classic film but as a franchise.

We all go a little mad sometimes...

Psycho II is the best.

reply

I love Psycho II and III, but if I had to choose one over the other, I'd go with Psycho III.

Wait a minute... who am I here?

reply

Agreed. Same here. I love both, but I'd give the edge to III.

Perkins didn't get the credit he deserved for directing Psycho III.

I was creeped out by it as a youngster but having watched it again recently, it's far better than I remembered.

Norman is more insane than ever before and Perkins really got his teeth into the role.

The only thing that ruins part 3 for me is that large breasted woman from that Friday the 13th sequel. Other than her the third one is fairly decent.

reply

You're referring to the character "Red," played by Juliette Cummins from “Friday the 13th Part V." You must be jesting though because (1.) she doesn't have big breasts and (2.) she was a peripheral highlight of the movie.

reply

Yeah, she was like an 'A' cup....

I like III better than II because -- thanks to the events of II -- it puts Norman and Mother (and mother's voice) back where they belong...together up at the house, Norman running the motel below.

And THIS time, we see them "backstage."

And THIS time, we see Norman "disconnect" from his mother personality when (1) his shower victim is already bleeding from a razor blade suicide attempt and (2) he stops Mother from killing his new girlfriend by grabbing the knife blade with his hand and ramming his hand into a wall. THAT shuts Mother off inside of him. He let her run loose to kill Marion and Arbogast in the first movie.

Also, Perkins was a very intelligent director and screenwriter Charles Edward Pogue co-wrote the great remake of 'The Fly" the same year. Class act movies in one way -- pretty gross in others.
