Mediocre

This was basically John Hughes regurgitating plot threads from his previous efforts, especially "Sixteen Candles," with trite class warfare elements thrown in. Sure, that sort of thing has always existed (and certainly did in the 70s, when I was in high school) but this came off as very forced and largely unbelievable. Having known a few rich a-holes in my day, any who acted the way the ones did in this would not have been able to buy even one friend.

And while "Duckman" (mostly ripped off from Anthony Michael Hall's "Geek") may have been intended to be a charming sort of dork, he was nearly always irritating as hell.

My people skills are fine. It's my tolerance of morons that needs work.
