Never watched it

So I was a big fan of Sixteen Candles and The Breakfast Club but never did watch this movie, I've never seen Some Kind of Wonderful either. Are they both worth going back and watching all these years later? I don't know why I never checked them out back in the day, the only excuse I can think of is I was too busy and there are always so many movies to watch that I just never got around to these. I probably have a list of at least 200 movies that I've never seen that I want to get around to watching, this one is definitely on the list.

If you are a male that may be a reason you didn't watch it!! I cant imagine to many dudes wanting to see it as much as a teenage girl. Honestly it is a fairly simple movie, but this is what you missed. John Cryer as the character Duckie is why most people remember it. He is an iconic character, but this movie is full of those as well. Molly Ringwall gives probably her best performance in it, and James Spader is great as the snobby jealous bad guy. It could have used a bit more of a backstory. We dont know a lot about these characters. Its good, and simple. The movie "Some Kind of Wonderful" is basically the same movie with a twist. I actually like "Some Kind of Wounder" much better.

Lol I am a male and I am not into chick flicks but did like Molly Ringwald and John Hughes movies so that's the only reason I want to go back and check this out. I've got a lot softer in my older age so I think anything that might've bothered me about this movie when it came out probably wouldn't now. Thanks for your recap though, sounds about what I was expecting. I have a feeling once I do watch this it will be only a one time viewing. I never watched The Big Chill or St Elmo's Fire until recently (I never watched them back in the day either) and I got to say those were a nice one time watch as well. They were not as good to me as other people made them out to be so I have the same feeling about Pretty in Pink.

I still haven't watched The Big Chill but now that I am older I may get something out of it. St Elmo's Fire is pretty cheesy but for some reason I have watched it many times! lol

St. Elmo's Fire was a good one time watch, I have a feeling if I had seen it when it came out I might feel differently about it. The Big Chill was also okay but another let down based on other peoples hype for it. My favorite part is when they're at the store shopping and in the back ground in the freezer section you can see some Jello Pudding Pops and I immediately thought of Bill Cosby. Lol

I have watched The Big Chill since my post and I honestly dont remember most about it. A very over rated movie that frankly is so yuppy and white privilege its cringe worthy.

I watched this movie for the first time ever, just a few weeks ago. I'd just never been interested, even though I LOVE The Breakfast Club and Sixteen Candles, and was nearing my early teens when it came out. I've watched it twice now, because Duckie is just so endearing to me

Pretty in Pink is the prototype teen movie that most of the teen parody movies are based on....for a reason.

If you haven't seen it it's worth a watch, but you won't leave a hole in your soul if you skip it. Annie Potts and Andrew Dice Clay both have great smaller roles playing....well, pretty much the same character they always play.

Some Kind of Wonderful is equally stereotypical and cheezy, but for some reason Eric Stoltz, Mary Stuart Masterson, Lea Thompson and yes Elias Koteas as the bad-ass toughie with a heart of gold, and even Craig Sheffer as the stereotype dickhead boyfriend, put it in the upper echelon of 80s teenie dramas for me, and I can always watch 30 minutes of it if I see it on cable.

Whose idea was it for the word "Lisp" to have an "S" in it?

I finally got around to watching it and I did like it but it's really quite a small / simple story and wasn't all that interesting to me. I am glad I watched it but really have no interest in watching it again. I still need to watch Some Kind of Wonderful though.

Personally out of the four films you mentioned, SKOW is there best.
