I saw it. I can't post much of a user review because I was twelve and my memory is hazy.
I will say, my late father and I started watching it. My dad was a huge fan of 'cop' dramas, way before the surge of that genre began. "The French Connection" was one of the kings for him (I wish he'd stuck around long enough to see "American Gangster," he liked the 'blaxploitation' genre as well, and that flick really absorbs both genres.)
He thought the movie would blow, and my mind was so naive back then, I went in agreeing with him. We watched, he laughed and was pretty focused on the flick, and afterwards said it wasn't bad (which means, and in actuality, he liked it so much he watched it again, whenever he could catch it.)
Anyway, he liked it enough that when "Married With Children" came on, my brothers and I were pretty much forced to watch it because the dude from that show that sold dad over wanted to see it (before we had twenty televisions for one kid, we actually had 1, no remote-- so you had to get up and change and fix the television yourself... Real old-school.)
Anyway, I'm thinking of this watching a "Married with Children" episode as we speak. Ed O'Neal is a great actor. I almost attribute him as a Peter Boyle type of actor because he had a lot of crazy performances to bring in before the solitary performance that would bring him to the helm that he is... Al Bundy.
