Did Diane Really Not Want Carl Anne?

Or was Steven as Kane just saying that?

Dont Apologize. Its a sign of weakness-Leroy Jethro Gibbs

Well of course she wanted her, shes her daughter and look at the trouble they went through in the first film to save her. BUT kane was probably able to read deep into her mind and im sure somewhere deep in there she may have had the odd flicker of blaming her for the problems considering it was her the spirits were able to communicate with and no one else in the family, so yes a few times in the pits of her minds despair maybe she did think she was just trouble.

But that would not last more then a milli second, her love as a mother would over ride any of that right away. Kane was just trying to split the family unit apart, as it was there love that he hated and stopped him getting her again

I agree with chrismahon2005. It was likely a faint, fleeting thought or two that Carol Anne was responsible for the troubles & if she hadn't been born they'd not have that trouble.
But she loved her daughter like mad, and wanted her more than anything.
Kane just took any weapon he could find, and used it.

"Didn't he discover America?"
"Penfold, shush."

"You wish that CAROL ANNE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!....had never been given birth to!!!!"

He knew what Diane was thinking because he was....smart.

It *may* have just flickered through her mind - or even just her possibly acknowledging that Carol Anne was always at the centre of the troubles (rather than the cause outright), but I don't think it was ever a serious thought. However, give the devil his due, he knows how to put a spin on things... It was just the right thing to say to mess with everyone's heads...

Carol Anne may have been an "accident"

Absolutely.

She got her wish as Carol Anne died at the end of Poltergeist 3. She knew sending her to her grandparents would make it better.
